Ban the Ban Minnesota (BtBMN) is a grassroots movement to educate Minnesotans and others on the opposition side of the smoking ban argument.  We understand that there are many emotions involved in this fight, and that at times, adults don’t always act as they should. 

BtBMN assumes no liability for the actions or comments of those who visit our site.  Likewise, BtBMN assumes no liability for the actions of our many members, or those who choose to use any of our provided materials or information. 

BtBMN believes strongly in personal and individual accountability, and we assume no authority over those who presume to act on our behalf.   Due to the grassroots nature of this movement, we have no ability to monitor the actions of those who choose to act in opposition of the Minnesota statewide smoking ban.

We do request that those who do decide to use our materials, and those who choose to vocally and publicly display their opposition, act in a way that is acceptable.  We do not encourage lawlessness, and ask that all persons using our materials respect the laws of the towns, cities, and counties in which they are actively protesting, and likewise respect all state and federal laws, as applicable. 

We understand that this is a heated and often controversial subject. As such, we strictly assume responsibility and liability for the primary articles and pages posted to the BtBMN weblog by previously approved BtBMN authors. No other claims of responsibility or liability, implied or otherwise, are made regarding weblog content.

 

Commentary beyond the primary article is wholly owned by the author of said comments and is allowed on the BtBMN weblog for the explicit purpose of expressing opinion. Presence of commentary in no way means an endorsement for, or representative views of, BtBMN or its members.

 

BtBMN makes no assurance that commentary will be appropriate or inoffensive in nature. As such, if a reader takes issue with a particular comment or commenter, that issue can be addressed with the author of said comment only. BtBMN will not mediate disputes over opinion or commentary nor will responsibility for offensive content, perceived or real, become the responsibility of BtBMN.

 

Requests to remove offensive content can be made to BtBMN; however given the nature of opinion commentary, there is no guarantee that staff will agree to remove the comment unless truly warranted.
