Where Do We Go From Here?

Anyone who paid attention to the MN House Races probably realized one thing: it was very anti-climatic. With a few exceptions, the incumbents all won.
I suspect that with the high voter turnout rate, there was also a very high uninformed voter turnout. Many of these voters went specifically to vote for our next President, [...]

It’s Finally Here

Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that I will be very happy to not have to see or listen to political ads for two more years. All the candidate signs that litter the landscape are coming down soon, and I couldn’t be happier.
But, I’m also very excited about tomorrow’s election.
Tomorrow is the day to [...]

And the Thoughts Continue…

I support personal freedoms and rights.  I would work to support efforts to re-establish private business rights and freedoms.  Customers of businesses vote with their dollars, give them the choice to support the businesses of their choice with out a governmental ban.  Thank you for your interest and I hope we are successful this year.

-Gene [...]

More Thoughts

I would vote to repeal the smoking ban. I would not support exemptions because the smoking ban is unconstitutional and I will not play the game of stealing rights and giving back tiny bits and pieces as rewards.
-Felix Montez, District 59A (map)

Thank you for becoming involved in a movement to protect individual rights.  Protection of [...]

More Thoughts From Candidates

The ban violated the property rights and personal liberties of every bar owner in Minnesota. I was opposed to it then and am opposed to it now.

-Steve Drazkowski, District 28B (Map)

Thanks for the email.  My thoughts on the ban are simple:  it’s stupid.
Of course it’s nice to not have to smell like smoke, but, [...]

Thoughts From Minnesota House Candidates

From now until election day, I will be posting a list of emails I receive from Minnesota Candidates for House of Representatives. I hope to get through them all, and I’ll be posting a few at a time. Here we go…
I am a non-smoker who believes the government should never tell business owners and their [...]

BtBMN Supports Joshua Behling for HD 15B

In a previous post, we acknowledged that Joshua Behling, House Candidate for District 15B (map here), is a friend of liberty and BtBMN offered Joshua our endorsement.
Joshua was kind enough to post our endorsement on his website:
Behling Receives Perfect 10 Liberty Rating
Joshua Behling (R-St. Cloud) received a perfect 10 liberty rating from the organization Ban [...]

Tim Utz BtBMN Endorsement on His Website

Tim Utz, the Republican candidate for House District 50A, does not support smoking bans. He sees them as an assault to liberty, and a violation of the constitutional powers of our state government.
BtBMN fully endorses Tim Utz for District 50A, and Tim has posted our endorsement on his website:
Ban the Ban Minnesota Endorsement
CCCR is pleased [...]

Down to the Wire

We are down to a little more than 2 weeks until the General Election. While a lot of people are focused on the important presidential election, I can’t stress the importance of the Minnesota House election.
It is at this time that Ban the Ban Minnesota will change its focus exclusively to the Minnesota House Election. [...]

Perhaps She Should Get Out of the Kitchen

In the process of collecting the positions from state representatives, I got a response from Tina Liebling (District 30A), one of the authors of the smoking ban. This is what she wrote:

Shawn,
I am not responding because I don’t like the nasty tone of your web site.
Reasonable people can agree or disagree on issues, but I [...]
