Today I spoke with a salesperson regarding a radio advertising campaign on a popular radio station in the Twin Cities. He is very interested in working with us to set up a professional ad that is guaranteed to reach a lot of listeners. The price he quoted me wasn’t too outragous, so unless someone talks [...]

It’s been brought to my attention that Clearway Minnesota and its associates have been visiting Ban the Ban Minnesota. I’m not sure exactly why they are visiting our site, but one thing is certain: their visits are not benevolent.
Most people who have visited Ban the Ban Minnesota know how Clearway Minnesota passes off half-truths and [...]

Larry Haws, the DFL incumbent for District 15B, has proven that he’s a strong supporter of the current statewide smoking ban. District 15B covers the eastern part of St. Cloud, as well as a rural part of Sherburne County.
The only exemptions that Larry voted for were Tribal Casinos and farm land/equipment. He also voted in [...]

Here is some news for you folks in District 47B, Brooklynn Park, your incumbent House Representative Melissa Hortman appears to have quite the temper. This little tidbid was picked up from the Anoka County Watchdog.
“You know it’s election season when Hennepin County’s favorite silver spoon princess, Meli$$a Hortman, throws a hissy fit. Last time around, [...]

With Attorney General Mike Hatch wrongfully labeled as a “big tobacco shill”, by 2005-2006 MPAAT had now discredited him to the point he had no choice but to no longer address the waste of $10,000,000 per year of tobacco settlement monies.
So, in 2006, presumably because of exposure of the MPAAT corruption, MPAAT changed its name to “Clearway [...]

We have a good candidate and a not-so-good incumbent running for House in District 50A, which covers Cities of Columbia Heights, Hilltop, and parts of Fridley and St. Anthony.
While we don’t consider Carolyn Laine, the DFL incumbent, to be the worst of the worst, it’s still quite apparent that Carolyn has little concept of private [...]

When the 2007 legislature passed the Minnesota Smoking Ban, many of the legislators who voted in favor of the bill contended that regular Minnesota citizens were clamoring for an indoor smoking ban; that it was a grassroots movement. We, here at Ban the Ban Minnesota do not believe that was true, as many non-smokers do [...]

Kudos to Larry Duncan, a bar owner in West Burlington, Iowa.
Iowa has been under a repressive smoking ban since July 1st. Mr. Duncan, who’s owned a bar in West Burlington for 24 years, is standing up to the asinine law. Now, the police chief is refusing to renew his liquor license as [...]

District 30A is another district that is up for grabs. It covers most of the City of Rochester, and we need to get the incumbent, Tina Liebling, out of that seat. Click here for the district scorecard.
Tina was on board with “Big Pharma” to sponsor the ban. She was also against all exemptions, including the ones [...]
